Delivered on time and on budget, Burnbrae is part of a £150.1m investment in county schools since 2003.
As previously reported in the Advertiser, pupils from the former Hopefield Primary moved into Bonnyrigg’s newest school on October 24, when around 120 families turned out for a special walk - from Hopefield to Burnbrae - to celebrate the first day of class.
Colourful and airy, the new facility is a “vast improvement” on the old school building, which according to head teacher Candy Inglis was “not fit for purpose”.
She said: “Feedback from pupils and staff has been 100 per cent positive. Everyone is loving the brightness and how much space there is, and the fact that we now have doors instead of curtains.
