A Dalkeith mum’s charity has funded 80 potentially life-saving alarms for parents of children with complex forms of epilepsy.
Marking National Epilepsy Week (May 19-25), The Muir Maxwell Trust (MMT) gifted 80 alarms, which retail at £750, to families thanks to generous donations received from the public and through the fundraising efforts of its supporters, as well as grants from charitable trusts and foundations.
Thirty of the alarms have been funded with a grant from the Weir Charitable Trust.
Since it was established by Ann Maxwell, MMT has provided more than 2500 alarms to families across the UK.
This year, the charity hopes to fund another 300.
Recipients of the alarms range from three month old babies through to 21 year olds.
