Put the pedal to the metal and get to Glencorse Barracks, Penicuik, this Saturday for a motoring event in aid of an armed forces charity.

The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2 SCOTS, are hosting their first ever Military Hot Wheels open day with funds going to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

Visitors will have an
opportunity to see a diverse and eclectic range of vehicles, including American muscle cars, supercars, motorbikes, vans, trucks, classics and
military vehicles.

One of the highlights will be an appearance by 2 SCOTS’ Colour Sergeant Jim Thomson’s Poppy Bike.

Jim founded Motorcycle Club War-Torn Troops Remembered (WTTR) in 2012 and attend numerous events with his customised bike

There will be a children’s entertainment zone with bouncy castles and other activities. It is hoped that regimental pony Cruachan will also be present. There will be a selection of mascots – a ninja turtle, big bear, Leo the 2 SCOTS Lion, and a Minion – present to have their photos taken with visiting children.

Visitors can also enjoy music, refreshments and a variety of stalls. Entry will be £1. Doors open at 11am and the fun continues until 3.30pm.
