The firm said a “handful of shrewd punters” backed the name at 40/1 before it closed the book, with those gamblers now collecting thousands in winnings.
And the bookmaker is already offering a 500/1 shot that Murray’s daughter eventually wins Wimbledon. She is also 5000/1 to play any of Djokovic or Federer’s children in a Grand Slam Singles final.
David Macdonald, of Ladbrokes, said: “It looks like Sophia is already following in her father’s footsteps by taking the bookies to the cleaners.” Other names backed early on by punters for Murray’s baby were Freya, Alexandra, Elizabeth and Grace.

The name Sophia - meaning “wisdom” in Greek - ranked in equal 19th place along with Mia in the latest list of Scotland’s most popular baby names for 2015, published last December by the National Records of Scotland.
The name, given to 198 baby girls last year, had dropped seven places in popularity from 2014.
Sophia was also the most popular name for girls in the US in 2012.
