Appeal after man attacked

POLICE are urging the driver of a car who intervened in a vicious assault to help them trace two suspects.

A 32-year-old man was set upon by two teenage males who savagely kicked him on the head and body, breaking his arm in the process.

The attack took place yesterday at around 2.20am in Gladstone Place at Leith Links.

The victim was approached by two young males who attacked him without warning.

During the assault, the driver of a car stopped and shouted at the youths, who then ran off across Leith Links.

However, the driver then left the scene of the assault.

The suspects are described as white males, aged between 16 and 17, both of skinny build and both wearing light- coloured hooded tops.
