April’s hottest ticket will showcase refurbished pool

FANS of Olympic posterboy Tom Daley are facing a race against time to get tickets for a diving world championship event at the Commonwealth Pool.

The 2013 FINA/Midea Diving World Series will make a giant splash in the Capital – one of the six stops on a global circuit – in April and is expected to sell out quickly.

Homegrown talent Grace Reid, 16, will also rub shoulders with the sport’s best – including the likely participation of Olympic silver medallist Daley.

City festival and events champion, Councillor Steve Cardownie, said: “The event will allow us to showcase the newly-refurbished Royal Commonwealth Pool and, of course, provide the perfect warm-up for the Commonwealth Games the following year.

“With the competitors likely to include Tom Daley and local diver and European Junior Champion Grace Reid, I’m sure the people of Edinburgh will turn out in their thousands to lend their support. The event will provide the perfect warm-up for the Commonwealth Games the following year.”

Fans can buy tickets from the Ticketmaster website. Prices range from £8-£12.
