Lothian and Borders Police confirmed yesterday that a 47-year-old man had been charged following the accident in Portobello Road on August 9.

He will appear in court at a later date.

A colourful band of 100 cyclists pedalled their way to Joppa to pay their respects to the woman, who loved cycling.

Many mourners wore full cycling gear, including the blue, yellow and green tops of Mrs Fyfe’s beloved club CTC Lothians, of which she had been a member since 1954.
