Arrests after month-long vandal spree

TWO youths have been arrested and charged over a string of vandal attacks in a Lothian village, including one incident were 20 panes of glass were smashed at a building.

The youths are alleged to have been responsible for around 20 vandalism and breach of the peace offences in the Gullane area over the last month, including the incident on February 17 when glass panes were broken in Whim Road.

The pair will now be the subject of a report to the Children’s Reporter.

Inspector Ian Mackay, community inspector for North Berwick coastal ward, said: “Lothian and Borders Police are committed to bringing offenders to justice and we will continue to focus our resources towards dealing with incidents of vandalism and antisocial behaviour occurring in our communities.”
