Concerns for the welfare of a woman on Salisbury Crags prompted an emergency response on Friday – but police later confirmed she is safe and well.

Police and fire services mobilised to Holyrood Park at 2.10pm, amid concerns for a woman at Salisbury Crags on Arthur's Seat.

Emergency services remained on the scene for two hours until, eventually, the woman came down after speaking to officers.

Police Scotland told the Evening News she was “uninjured and taken to hospital, where was left in the care of the NHS.”
