Auntie’s fundraising spectacular

Children in Need 2013

(Friday, November 15, BBC One, 7.30pm)

What’s It All About? The nights are drawing in, the days are getting colder and Christmas is just over a month away.

Yes, it’s that time of year again when the Beeb attempts to persuade the Great British public to part with its hard-earned cash by offering up hour upon hour of special programmes, many of them featuring famous faces getting up to all sorts of activities they would usually run a mile from.

Look Out For: Among the delights this year we have a dance extravaganza featuring the cast of EastEnders, a very special edition of Room 101, and musical performances from the likes of Tinie Tempah, JLS, One Direction and Ellie Goulding, singer of this year’s CIN single, How Long Will I Love You.

It’s also been revealed that a Doctor Who special will appear. No details have been released about what it may feature, but fans have already begun speculating about it online. With the 50th anniversary of the show taking place later in the month, many are hoping it will tie-in with that – and may even include some secrets about the mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt.
