Award to smoke out best warning calls

The Crofton Award is seeking entrants from across the area, and is offering cash prizes for the most innovative project.

Judges want to see participants consider not only the health and social effects of smoking, but also topics such as farming, marketing and the role of the media.

It is organised by The Royal Environment Health Institute of Scotland, and Edinburgh-based anti-tobacco charity ASH.

ASH’s chief executive Sheila Duffy said: “There is no doubt that there are many projects being run by and for young people which discuss the important issues of tobacco and smoking and I’m delighted the Crofton Award recognises and rewards those efforts.”
