Bankruptcy review hailed
Citizens Advice Scotland has welcomed the Scottish Law Commission’s efforts to “tidy up” the legislation relating to bankruptcy in Scotland.
The commission announced a consultation yesterday, aimed at consolidating existing legislation.
CAS chief executive Lucy McTernan said: “The rise in personal debt over recent years has made bankruptcy a real option for more and more people.
“We don’t celebrate or welcome that, but it is a fact. And it makes sense to adapt our legal system accordingly.”
