A SPECIAL adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays is to be performed in Dalkeith Country Park.
A Midlothian Night’s Dream is a new project between Midlothian Council and the Lyceum Youth Theatre.
Involving young people from the local community, the adaption of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed at noon, and again at 2pm, this Saturday. The event is included in the entry fee to the park.
Councillor Bob Constable, cabinet member for public services and leisure, said: “This is a great chance to get out and about, enjoy the fresh air and see a great adaptation of this famous play. Well done to all the young people involved in this project and I wish them ever success in their performance.”
John Glancy, Lyceum Youth Theatre producer, said: “It’s great to be working on such an exciting project with so many local partners. The opportunity to do such a special play in such a special location will hopefully inspire audiences and participants alike.
“Working outdoors is theatre at its most real and vibrant no performance is the same. This is a magical play and people should come to have a rare opportunity to see it in such a wonderful venue.”
