This Saturday (August 9) man’s best friend will take centre stage at Vogrie Park for the third year in a row at the Fun Dog Show.
Organised in aid of German Shepherd Rescue Scotland, the event starts at 10.30am and runs until 3pm, with dog displays, breed classes, doggie stalls, a dog artist and pretty much anything to do with our four legged friends on offer.
Dorothy Findlayson, one of the show’s organisers, revealed what else people and their pets can expect on the day: “We have got novelty classes for all breeds of dog, we have a fancy dress parade, a whole range of activities and things going on. For example people can book their slot and have themselves photographed with their dogs. We also have numerous stands selling dog things. Pretty much everything a dog owner could ask for.
“But we also have a tombola and a fabulous raffle.
“It’s a family friendly event, with a children’s fancy dress taking place. We have found that the children like to dress up as well as their dogs.
“I think it’s going to be a fun day, hopefully the weather stays like it has been recently. That would do nicely. We don’t want it to be too hot for the dogs, obviously, but as long as the rain holds off we will be happy.
“We have been lucky in previous years. So far no bad weather. So we are just hoping that stays the same and that everyone comes!
“We just want there to be lots of happy dogs and lots of happy people.”
