Body in burn investigation

Inquiries were continuing today following the discovery of a body in a freezing burn on Boxing Day.

Police were called at 12.50pm on Wednesday after a dog walker discovered the body of a man, believed to be between 50 and 65 years old, in the Braid Burn, which runs through waste ground beside Forkenford, off Duddingston Road West.

The street, was cordoned off for a number of hours as police and forensic workers attempted to establish the circumstances of the unexplained death, which are not thought to be suspicious at this stage.
