Bonnyrigg’s Cherry Road Resource Centre has re-opened following the first part of a £220,000 refurbishment.
Service users have returned to the centre and the second phase of the refurbishment, involving smaller improvements, has got under way.
Once the work has been fully completed, people who visit the centre will benefit from a total revamp of all the bathrooms, a new hot water system, refurbished toilet provisions, new flooring in much of the centre, the creation of a multi-purpose room and an upgrade of the electrics.
The work is part of Midlothian Council’s modernisation programme aimed at improving day services for people with learning disabilities, which it says will meet the changing needs, requirements and expectations of service users.
