A COMMUNICATIONS company has made a special donation to a Midlothian school.
The Cable & Wireless Worldwide Foundation is helping pupils at Saltersgate School in Dalkeith.
The Friends of Saltersgate School will use the cash to buy technology that allows children to overcome the barriers of physical disability and movement co-ordination and achieve learning objectives.
The Tobii PCeye eye control unit converts eye movements to a mouse cursor on a PC screen, thus enabling pupils to use a PC more easily, giving them independent access to academic and social networking resources.
Head teacher Jean Loughlin said: “The Tobii PCeye will enable staff to reach the most challenged children, while maximising the potential of those whose physical and learning needs place challenges in their way.”
