THE latest plans to reshape Midlothian’s parliamentary boundary are set to be unveiled.
The Boundary Commission for Scotland expects to publish revised proposals for UK constituencies on September 13.
Then, an eight-week public consultation period will run until Wednesday, November 7.
As previously reported in the Advertiser (above), initial plans published last year suggested that all of the current Midlothian Council area plus Peebles, Innerleithen, Broughton and Clovenfords would be included in the new constituency.
That would make it, geographically, the 12th largest consistuency in Scotland – stretching from Danderhall to the outskirts of Biggar in the west and almost as far as Moffat to the south.
