Bowel disease fundraiser to be ‘magical’

A GLAMOROUS fundraising evening is to take place raising money for a common but low-profile bowel disease.

The general manager of Prestonfield House has arranged the event for the charity Crohn’s and Colitis, after one of his daughters was diagnosed. Alan McGuiggan said it would be an entertaining evening in a “magical setting” on March 24.

It will be presented by Radio Forth DJ Boogie and attended by other Capital personalities.

The illness affects around one in 200 people in Scotland and is more prevalent here than elsewhere in Europe.

The cause was recently helped after national team football captain and Manchester United star Darren Fletcher revealed he had been diagnosed and was taking a break from the sport as a result.
