Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has set out a timetable for change in the event of a no vote in next week’s referendum.
Speaking at Loanhead Miners’ Welfare Club, Mr Brown said a No vote would be the “starting gun” for further powers for Holyrood.
A new Scotland Act with proposals to devolve key areas of tax and welfare policy to Holyrood would be published in time for St Andrew’s Day followed by a draft law around January 25, Burns Night.
Midlothian MSP Colin Beattie (SNP) said: “Gordon Brown’s announcement is yet another example of the Westminster parties fobbing us off.”
