Speaking as work continued at the 50,000 sq ft centre, Transgression Park director Ken Smith said: “There are lots of activities for kids to do and lots of activities for big kids to do. It’s really going to be quite an exciting venture for Midlothian, attracting visitors to the area.

“There is still a lot of things to do. It won’t really get exciting until we open to the public.

“The whole place is going to generate quite a few jobs. The 14 staff at our Edinburgh centre will move here and we will have a further six people working in the bike shop and another six in the cafe.”
