Tourism in the county has been given a boost, with funding allocated towards three upcoming events.
The Midlothian Themed Tourism Event Fund was launched in February, with groups invited to make applications under either of the two Scottish Government tourism themes, ‘Active Scotland’ or ‘Scotland – The Land of Food and Drink’.
Newbattle Abbey College received £3,600 to expand their second annual Celtic Festival on Saturday, May 21.
Following on from the success of last year, the award will see the addition of a food and drink marquee.
Rosewell Development Trust secured £3,787 to help with the annual fun day on Saturday, July 30.
The free Fitness and Wellbeing Training event, to take place on Sunday, May 15, at Newbattle Abbey College, was awarded £3,960.
