Exhibition showcases Midlothian business

There are still a few delegate places left for the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce annual enterprise exhibition.

The annual showcase of local business will be held at the Eskmills Function Suite, Musselburgh, on Wednesday, October 30.

This popular exhibition and awards ceremony is one of the largest business to business events in the region. It is a celebration of the dedication, commitment and success of businesses and individuals throughout East and Midlothian.

Last year it was attended by around 200 delegates.

This year’s event will be attended by guest speakers Ken Barclay, head of RBS Corporate Banking Division, and Fergus Ewing MSP, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.

To book a place at the event, contact the chamber of commerce on 0131 603 5040.

Meanwhile, Midlothian Council is hosting a Local Supplier Engagement event at McSence, Mayfield, also on Wednesday, October 30, from 1pm to 4pm.

This free event is open to all local businesses in Midlothian, who wish to find out more about doing business with Midlothian Council and the opportunity to engage with their procurement team.

There will be short presentations on the council’s approach to tendering and awarding contractual business, followed by a question and answer session chaired by Councillor Jim Bryant (Cabinet portfolio holder for Economic Development).
