Gorebridge housing plan wins approval

FORTY-eight new council houses are to be built in Gorebridge.

Planning permission has been granted for 48 new homes to be built on land between Greenhall Road and Jubilee Crescent.

Midlothian Council will build a mixture of two-storey “cottage style” flats, semi-detached houses and short terraces over 16 blocks, with 48 car parking spaces.

There will be 24 two-bed cottage style flats, 12 three-bed terraced houses, eight three-bed semi-detached houses and four four-bed semi-detached houses - providing accommodation for up to 192 people. The development will form a long cul-de-sac, with vehicular access from Jubilee Crescent.
