Caledonia Pride make Wood their first signing

Caledonia Pride, the new Women's BBL side supported by BasketballScotland, have made Scottish international guard Hilary Wood their first signing.

Former Polonia Phoenix star Wood, who spent a year at university in Canada where she had cruciate ligament surgery in between two stints at Edinburgh University, played for GB in the U20 European Championships in 2013.

Wood is excited about the arrival of the WBBL in Scotland and can’t wait for the season to start next month.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of this,” she said.

Caledonia Pride will make their league debut away to Leicester Riders on October 8 and play their first home fixture at Oriam on October 23 against Sheffield Hatters.
