Capital turns out to pay its respects

WAR veterans and members of the public paid their respects to the fallen in Edinburgh yesterday.

A two-minute silence was observed at Princes Street Gardens.

Among those to take part was Harold Nicolson, who laid a wreath in memory of the Scottish United Services.

A series of services for Remembrance Sunday are also scheduled to take place tomorrow across the Lothians.

They include Scotland’s national remembrance ceremony, which will take place at the Stone of Remembrance on the Royal Mile.
