Capital’s case for Green Bank

The leaders of Edinburgh and Glasgow councils have written to Business Secretary Vince Cable arguing for the UK’s Green Investment Bank to be sited in the Capital.

The letter, signed by Edinburgh Council Leader Jenny Dawe and Glasgow Council leader Gordon Matheson argues that the Capital has a reputation as “a centre of expertise in finance” and that Scotland as a while would benefit from siting it there.

The Green Investment Bank is aimed at unlocking new private investment into green infrastructure projects.
