Officers carried out six house searches at addresses in the south and east of Edinburgh on Wednesday and seized a combination of Class A, B and C drugs.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “While the amount of drugs seized was relatively small, yesterday’s operation sends a strong message that the force will act on any information regarding dealers.”

A 36-year-old man also appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday after a raid on a property in Danderhall on Wednesday during which cannabis plants and class A drugs worth £12,750 were seized.
