The largest project ever to be carried out on electric vehicles in Scotland is taking place in Dalkeith.
Experts say the results of the project, which is currently underway at Jewel & Esk College’s Midlothian campus at Hardengreen, will be crucial in building public confidence in electric vehicle technology and making such cars mainstream across Scotland.
Jewel & Esk launched the project with four cars last August.
The SQA took a car soon after the project launch, which has proved popular with staff at the new office in Shawfair, near Danderhall.
There will soon be nine cars on the road – with East Lothian Council taking two, and Edinburgh’s Telford College and Edinburgh Napier University one each.
