Looking forward to his new role as Midlothian’s police commander is Chief Inspector Kenny Simpson.
The 45-year-old moves to the county after four years as safer community team manager with Scottish Borders Council.
Ch Insp Simpson said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be the local area commander for Midlothian.
“I have served all my time in what was the legacy of the Lothian and Borders Police area so I have a knowledge and understanding of the people and geography and the different communities that lie in Midlothian.”
