Thieves have been stripping copper sheeting from the roof of the Loanhead Social Work Centre.
In the past few weeks, the Clerk Street offices have been targeted three times, causing around £2000 worth of damage. Fortunately, the damage was confined to the roof area.
Midlothian Council and the police are working together to look at security around the property and are asking people to be aware of suspicious activities.
Councillor Wilma Chalmers, spokesman for property and facilities management, said: “Repairs to the building have now been completed, including the removal of all copper from the roof, and replacement with modern materials that have no value as scrap metal.
“We are working with the police to look at security improvements and other deterrents.”
