A councillor representing the Dalkeith area is on a mission to clean up the neighbourhood.
Untidy gardens, broken windows, graffiti and overflowing bins are blighting parts of the town, Dalkeith and District Community Council heard on April 9.
Councillor Margo Russell (Lab) said: “I did a recent walking tour with a council officer.
“I plan to do this on a regular basis because what we found was quite disturbing.
“People had been complaining about rubbish in gardens, and so we started in the Woodburn area, at Woodburn Drive.
“There is quite a lot of rubbish in gardens, the wrong bins being used, graffiti and broken windows in empty houses.
“Officers are dealing with this issue, and also that of bad tenants.”
