Crash woe for foreign cars

MORE than 200 vehicles registered outside the UK have been involved in accidents in the Lothian and Borders area since 2010, new figures have shown.

The majority of the crashes are believed to have involved holidaymakers from abroad.

Police recorded at least 34 accidents involving foreign cars between April and the end of August this year.

Meanwhile, officers recorded 70 such accidents last year and another 101 in 2010.

The force said more vehicles with foreign plates could have had accidents during the period.
