A720 Baberton junction crash: man arrested in connection with incident

The crash happened at around 3pm yesterday, Saturday, on the A720 at the Baberton junction and resulted in one woman being taken to hospital.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released as the police continue the investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said today: “We attended a one-vehicle collision on the Edinburgh City Bypass near the Baberton junction around 3pm yesterday, Saturday, December 5.

“A 25-year-old woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and then later released.

“A 26-year-old man was arrested in connection with driving offences and released pending further investigation.”

A witness to the collision said a driver crashed into a tree near the Baberton junction.

Lanes were restricted in the area and traffic was warned to travel slowly on approach to where the crash happened.
