A 30-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a bike theft after being spotted by a member of the public in the Newhaven Road area on Wednesday evening.

He has now been charged by the Police.

Sergeant Harman from our Prevention, Intervention and Partnerships Dept said: "The theft of a bike can have a significant impact on the owner. As well as the financial side of things, people often depend on their bike to get to work and for exercising.

“We’re keen to help people to store their bikes as securely as possible.

“If you have any information regarding the theft of pedal bikes, I urge you to call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111”.
