A man has been robbed in broad daylight in a West Lothian town as the perpetrator leapt out a passing car and demanded his money and phone.

The incident happened around 12.30pm on Monday, August 17 in Armadale.

The victim was a 23-year-old man who was walking along Mount Pleasant in the direction of South Street when a black Ford Fiesta approached.

A man jumped out of the car demanding money before grabbing the victim and taking his mobile phone.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, around 5ft and 8in tall with dark hair.

He was wearing a red t-shirt, a light-grey tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms and red trainers.

Detective Constable David McDougall, of Livingston CID, said: "We're appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information at all about it, to please contact us."

Anybody with any information should contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 1728 of August 17.
