A body has been found in the search for a missing West Lothian woman.

Catherine Gordon, 64, from the Armadale area, disappeared on Monday morning.

But police confirmed today that the body of a woman was found near the River Avon at about 4:20pm on Tuesday.

In a statement, the force said: "She is still to be formally identified but the family of missing woman Catherine Gordon, 64, from Armadale have now been informed.

"There are no suspicious circumstances."
