Boy, 17, stabbed after attack near Liberton High School

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed near Liberton High School on Thursday night.

The incident happened in Gilmerton Road at around 7:50pm and the youth was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries.

Police are carrying out inquiries into the assault and confirmed the incident did not happen on school grounds.
