CCTV image released of Greggs bakery robber

POLICE have released CCTV of a man they want to trace following a robbery and two attempted robberies in the city last year.

The first incident happened at around 2.30pm on Sunday December 20 at Greggs The Bakery on Restalrig Road South, and the second at the AQQA store, also on Restalrig Road South, at around 4pm on Tuesday December 22,

The third incident happened at around 11pm on Friday 25 December at the May Sun takeaway on Craigentinny Road.

Officers believe that the man shown in the image may be able to assist them with their enquiries and have appealed to anyone who may recognise him to come forward.

He is described as white, in his 20s, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 7ins tall, with a medium build and speaks with a Scottish accent.

Detective Constable John McShane said: “These incidents have been a frightening experience for those targeted, and we’re eager to hear from anyone who can assist with our ongoing investigation.”
