Charlotte Square: Man arrested in Edinburgh as emergency services respond to disturbance in city centre

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after an incident in Edinburgh city centre on Thursday evening.
Police were called to Charlotte Square at around 9.20 pm after a report of a concern for a person within a property in the area.

Hide AdA Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 9.20pm on Thursday 16 July, 2020 following the report of a concern for a person at a property on Charlotte Square, Edinburgh.
"Following a joint approach between Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service, the man was traced safe and well.
"The 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disturbance and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
Locals told the Edinburgh Evening News the famous square was cordoned off for much of the evening.

Hide AdCharlotte Square is located near the West end of Princes Street and it is where Bute House, the official residence of the First Minister, is located.
