Dalkeith assault leaves teen with fractured jaw

A TEENAGER suffered a fractured jaw after being attacked as he stepped off a bus.

The 17-year-old had just got off the number 3 Lothian Buses service in Bogwood Road, Dalkeith, when he was assaulted.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at 5.45pm on Wednesday, March 30.

DC William Dickson from Dalkeith CID said: “This was a particularly violent incident which has resulted in a teenage male suffering a double fracture which has required surgery.

“The bus he had been travelling on continued on its journey southbound and a number of people on that number 3 service would have witnessed this assault. I am keen to speak to any passengers who saw what happened and may be able to assist our enquiries.”
