Dozens of cars in South Queensferry targeted by Christmas Day tyre slashers

Motorists are still counting the cost of the mass vandalism which saw as many as 30 cars parked in six South Queensferry streets suffer at the hands of mindless tyre slashers.

The vehicles were targeted between Friday night and Saturday morning – Christmas Day into Boxing Day.

Cars parked in streets including Echline View, Echline Avenue, Stoneyflatts, Stewart Terrace, Station Road and Lawson Crescent all suffered damage during the overnight slashing spree. A car parked outside Queensferry Parish Church also fell victim to vandals.

Police Scotland have been informed about the crimes and stated enquiries were ongoing as the hunt for witnesses – and the perpetrators – continues.

A spokesperson said: “We can confirm we have received reports about a number of car tyres being vandalised overnight between Friday, 25 December and Saturday, 26 December on Echline Avenue and surrounding streets in South Queensferry.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1178 of 26 December.”
