Driver, 30, left 'very shaken' after trio threaten him with knives in Edinburgh attempted robbery

A 30-year-old driver was left shaken after being threatened with knives by a trio of thugs who attempted to steal his vehicle.

The incident happened in Trafalgar Lane, close to the east end of Ferry Road, at around 7.45pm on Sunday, February 28. The three suspects then fled in the direction of South Fort Street.

Police described the suspects as being in their early 20s, with short cropped hair and around 5ft 9ins in height - and all three were wearing dark coloured tracksuits.

The driver was in his car when approached.

Detective Constable Christina Yeoman said: “The victim was fortunately uninjured but was left very shaken by the ordeal.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who may have private CCTV from the area.”

Police want anyone who recognises the descriptions of the suspects, or who has any other relevant information, to contact them on 101, quoting the reference number 3403 of 28 February, 2021.
