A man has died following an incident at a property in the west of Edinburgh.

The 47-year-old was found in a serious condition at an address in North Bughtlin Brae at about 7am after concerns were raised about him.

Emergency services attended but he died shortly after.

Officers said inquiries are ongoing as to what lead to the man’s death.

A police spokesman said: “Around 6.50am on Friday, 29 May, we received reports of a concern for a person within a property on North Bughtlin Brae in Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and a 47-year-old man was found in a serious condition and pronounced dead a short time later.

“Enquiries into the circumstances leading to the man’s death are ongoing.”

Mark Brown, councillor for Drum Brae and Gyle Ward said: “I have been advised, in addition to the Police statement on the article below that, ‘a cordon has been erected around the property and there will be a police presence in the area as we conduct house to house enquiries to establish the circumstances.

“This is likely to continue at least over the weekend.”
