East Lothian driver, 22, caught speeding more than 100mph on A1

A woman has been caught speeding more than 100mph on a busy main road in East Lothian.

The 22-year-old was seen driving at 101mph on the A1 near Gladsmuir on Saturday, August 29.

Officers stopped her and reported the driver to the Procurator Fiscal.

On the same day, a 24-year-old man was also caught speeding at 94mph on the same road.

He was stopped by police and issued with a fixed penalty fine.

A police spokesman said: “Road Policing officers carried out a static speed check on the A1 near to Gladsmuir on Saturday morning.

"During this a 22-year-old female was caught driving her vehicle at 101mph and a 24-year-old male, driving his motor vehicle at 94mph. The female will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal and the male was issued with a Fixed Penalty Ticket.”
