Sam Stevens, founder of MILK told the Edinburgh Evening News: “Everything is such a struggle right now.

“We are trying so hard to hold our business together in such difficult times.

“Most of our staff have been furloughed so it’s mainly down to myself and my husband.

“We have two small children to look after with no childcare.

“We have to work late into the night every evening so to wake up to this this morning was just devastating.

“Just another thing we have to deal with.

“It’s really upsetting to realise that the person who did this has no consideration to the knock on effects this would have for a small business.”

MILK also runs a cafe in the West End area of Edinburgh on Morrison Street as well as one in the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and one in The Fruitmarket Gallery on Market Street.

This comes a day after Joseph Pearce on Elm Row was vandalised, with the words ‘go home’ written on the side of the premises.
