Police are following a positive line of inquiry after a man was stabbed at a property in Gorgie.

Officers were called to the address in Slateford Green on Wednesday evening where they found a 44-year-old man seriously injured.

He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by paramedics. Details of his current condition have not been provided.

Police have confirmed they are now pursuing a positive line of inquiry.

Local residents reported seeing multiple police cars and at least three ambulances at the scene on Wednesday.
