Edinburgh police launch CCTV appeal after man, 37, left with serious facial injury in Hanover Street attack

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh city centre.

A 37-year-old man was left with a serious facial injury and needed hospital treatment following the attack in Hanover Street at about 2:50am on Thursday, February 20.

The man pictured is described as white, aged 18 to 25, of slim build with short light brown hair. He is wearing a dark coloured floral patterned short sleeved shirt and dark trousers.

Detective Sergeant Berry of Gayfield CID said: "The attack left the victim with a serious facial injury which required hospital treatment. I would urge anyone with information relating to the man in the CCTV images to contact police as soon as possible."
