Edinburgh taxi drivers charged with breaching their licence

Several Edinburgh taxi drivers have been charged with breaching their licence.

Police in the Capital have reported that several taxis were illegally ranking at the widened pavement on Princes Street contrary to the terms of their licence.

This action was in response to road safety concerns raised by the local community.

Police Scotland has stated that their officers are ensuring these spaces are safe for vulnerable road users.

Plans were released in July showing areas of the city that would have restricted parking implemented, along with a widening of pavements to create space for pedestrians and cyclists.
