She is described as white, 5 foot and 6 inches tall, medium build with medium length hair and when she was last seen she was wearing a bright blue jacket, dark trousers and a black backpack.

Sergeant Suzie Sandbach, Leith Police Station, said:"Michelle has not been reported missing to police before, so for her not to be in her home and for it to be left insecure is both unusual and concerning.

“Whilst there could very well be a simple explanation for this, we have to trace and speak to Michelle to make sure she is ok.

"She was last seen around 2pm yesterday afternoon on Leith Walk, Edinburgh. She may have been in the company of a man, a friend, who is described as white, 37 years old, 5 ft 10 tall, medium build, with dark hair. Michelle is quite a well-known person around the area and is a creature of habit, frequenting local shops and Edinburgh City Centre.

"Officers are currently in those areas and are checking CCTV in an effort to find her. We would appeal to anyone with information about where she is to contact officers at Leith Police Station via 101.

“Please quote reference number 3869 of 17 June, 2020, when calling.

"We would also appeal directly to Michelle and ask her to get in touch with police."
